Ferro Manganese is a ferroalloy composed primarily of manganese and iron, widely used in steelmaking and foundry industries to enhance the strength, toughness, and wear resistance of steel. Produced by smelting a mixture of manganese ore and iron in a blast or submerged arc furnace, this alloy acts as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer during the steel refining process.
We supply two main grades of Ferro Manganese:
High Carbon Ferro Manganese (HC FeMn) – Typically contains 70–80% manganese with 6–8% carbon, ideal for carbon steel manufacturing.
Medium/Low Carbon Ferro Manganese (MC/LC FeMn) – Contains lower levels of carbon (0.1–2%), suitable for producing stainless steel and special alloy steels requiring precise carbon control.
Key Features:
Enhances hardness and tensile strength
Improves resistance to abrasion and impact
Aids in the removal of oxygen and sulfur during steelmaking
Available in lumps or granules, customized to client specifications
Ferro Manganese is essential in the metallurgy sector, offering a balance of performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for various industrial processes.
